We are delighted to share that Nicole Nolen has been appointed N1C’s Executive Director.

Nicole was the first hire of the N1C in 2022 and through her dedication, initiative, and leadership has played a central role in shaping and scaling the organization. In her new role as Executive Director, she brings strong leadership, operational excellence, and a deep commitment to advancing individualized medicines for patients with ultra-rare diseases.

Nicole’s background spans both the science and business of biotechnology. Her commitment to this work is also deeply personal. Having lost her younger brother to mucolipidosis II (I-cell disease), she understands firsthand the challenges, urgency, and unmet needs faced by rare disease families. She brings both personal perspective and professional expertise to N1C’s mission of making individualized medicines more accessible in practice.
