Data Coordination

Data Coordination

State of the Ecosystem

The development of individualized genetic therapies depends on access to high-quality, well-structured data. However, the current data landscape is highly distributed, with no central data infrastructure and data being collected with different standards often hidden away in different research labs and within companies. For stakeholders, this creates challenges in understanding how to effectively contribute to, engage with, and benefit from existing data efforts, to avoid duplication of efforts and learn from each other.

Our Focus

The N1C Data Coordination Workgroup facilitates structured engagement between the N1C community and data initiatives relevant to individualized genetic therapies. The work group focuses on enabling meaningful participation of the N1C community in shaping, informing, and leveraging these initiatives. Through coordinated input and feedback, the workgroup aims to ensure that emerging data infrastructures reflect real-world needs and support the advancement of individualized therapeutic development. Our current efforts include:

  • Supporting engagement with data initiatives by identifying relevant opportunities for contribution, collaboration, and alignment.
  • Providing structured input, use cases, and requirements from our community to inform the design and development of data platforms and resources.
  • Facilitating data contribution and sharing from collaborative partners, where appropriate, to strengthen existing datasets and initiatives.
  • Coordinating testing and evaluation of tools and platforms, including providing feedback on usability, functionality, and relevance.
  • Promoting alignment across initiatives by highlighting overlaps, gaps, and opportunities for interoperability within the broader data ecosystem.

This approach ensures that the N1C community remains actively connected to the evolving data landscape, contributing to and benefiting from collective efforts while supporting the development of robust, interoperable, and impactful data resources.
